What We Do

HELPING THOSE IN NEED

EMPOWERING WOMEN IN AFRICA & THE USA.
In Africa We facilitate access to education and healthcare to young girls and women. As per UNESCO, the percentage of women that can read in sub-Saharan Africa is only 58% compared to 68% for male. We are working to bridge that gap. We create platforms where women can contribute economically, politically, and socially.
In collaboration with the Roger Bogne Foundation, we help women in villages to increase their productivity by organizing workshops to train farmers in production techniques.
In the USA, In collaboration with other nonprofits, organize networking events with guest speakers where women can meet and form bonds for various purposes: Work, childcare support etc….. Networking events where women can share their experience good or bad and learn from other women.

Health

SUB-SAHARA AFRICA HAVE MANY CHALLENGES THAT ADVERSELY AFFECT PUBLIC HEALTH
Access to clean water : According to the United Nation, 115 people in Africa die every hour from diseases linked to poor sanitation, poor hygiene and contaminated water. Also, In Africa, especially sub-Saharan Africa, more than a quarter of the population spends more than half an hour per round trip to collect water. In collaboration with RBF, we supply drinking water from drilled wells to villages in Cameroon.
Access to public restrooms: Open defecation has a direct health burden. We build latrines in rural areas and schools.
Malaria prevention: According to the WHO, sleeping under a net is one of the most effective ways to prevent malaria. Only 50% of families in sub-Saharan African sleep beneath a mosquito bed net. We help by periodically distribute mosquito nets in villages.

Education

Learning to read and write is a basic need and it is fundamental in improving lives and reducing poverty. Sub-Sahara Africa, has the highest percentage of people that cannot read or write. UNESCO reported the global literacy in 2012 to be at 84.3% versus below 60% in Sub-Sahara Africa.
We are helping change that through non-formal education programs like community libraries, computer training workshops for adults and children… In collaboration with Mengoh, are currently helping to build a multimedia center in Bangoulap, rural Cameroon.
